1. An alloy is made up of 114g of brass and 126g of iron. Find the ratio of the weight of brass to the weight of the alloy.
2. The monthly salary of a man is increased from #27,000 to #32,000. Find the percentage increase.
3. A trader makes a loss of 15% when selling an article, find the ratio-selling price : cost price.
4. A baker used 40% of a 50kg bag of flour. If 1/8 of the amount used was for cake, how many kilograms of flour was used for cake?
5. A car uses one litre of petrol for every 14km. If one litre of petrol costs #97.00, how far can the car go with #9700.00 worth of petrol?
6. The ratio of the number of men to the number of women in a 20-member committee is 3:1. How many women must be added to the 20 member committee so as to make the ratio of men to women 3:2
7. If 30% of Y is equal to X, what is 30% of 3Y?
